Welcome to A Guiding Voice

I want to take a minute and just talk to you straight from the heart.

A Guiding Voice was born out of pain, mistakes, and a whole lot of second chances. For a long time, I was the guy who burned every bridge to safety. I went down roads that led me straight into addiction, incarceration, and isolation. And I’ll be honest—there were times when I didn’t know if I’d ever make it back.

But God had other plans.

I started this podcast and now this blog because I know what it feels like to be overlooked, written off, or treated like your story is already finished. I also know what it feels like to finally hear a voice that says, “You’re not alone. You can get back up.” That voice changed my life, and I believe it can change yours too.

This space is about real stories—not polished, not perfect, just real. Stories from returning citizens trying to start fresh, from veterans rebuilding after loss, from people fighting through mental health battles, from everyday folks who’ve had to climb out of dark places and find light again. Every story matters, because every story reminds us we’re human, we’re resilient, and we’re still here.

Why does this blog matter? Because sometimes you don’t need a lecture—you just need to hear someone else say, “Me too. I’ve been there.” And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough to get you through another day.
